A series of carbon pencil drawings on translucent polyester film (Dura-lar). Images from daily life in Long Beach, CA and surrounding areas is juxtaposed with memory images and imagery from contemporary news media. With this series I’m interested in representing the multi-layered, mediated experience of place. I’m also interested in creating abstraction through layers of naturalistic representations.
